ProSafe1 Monitoring System

Post by Mvallus »

Has anyone experienced problems with their Prosafe 1 monitoring system not functioning? My control module is receiving power (fuses are intact as well), but the green indicator light is not on, nor is the separate monitor. I am sensing the unit may be fried. Of course, this is a discontinued unit, so finding a replacement may be tough. I realize that the newer Fail-safe models do not require the monitor and module, but having the monitor is always reassuring that the zincsaver/isolator is functioning. Any advice is appreciated...

Thanks

When I had a purchase survey done on Vento Solare in 2013, the Prosafe 1 was constantly alarming. An electrician determined that the unit was bad. The previous owner replaced it with the ProSafe FS30 Galvanic Isolator. This does not have the monitoring panel. I have not had any problems eating zincs. My boat is at a slip with shore power for most of the season. I also hang a "Grouper" Zinc clipped to the boat ground grid as an insurance policy.
