Glenn;
I spoke with TPI and was given the following answer:
There might be an air leak in the system that is preventing the tank from emptying. The tank should not be holding water. It is set up like a vacuum that sucks all the water out of the tank as you use it. It's the only way to have a tank that would work around the chainplate buttresses. They should have the tanks system checked for air leaks.
Hope this helps.

I just replaced both my bladder tanks, bought them from West Marine, (same as original,$119.99 ea). They both had tiny cracks that leaked a little, but not always. I took the tanks out, covers off, and closely inspected to find the leaks. Now with the new tanks, the pump sucks them vacuum dry. There were some sharp areas in the fiberglass tank locations, so i used the old tank covers to line the area under the new tanks to protect them.

I had a problem with the starboard tank bursting the starboard settee- it happened twice. TPI paid to have the boatyard fix the settee and reinforce it.
Both times, I ensured that the fill hose left adequate space for air to escape; I don't know why that happened. I guess that the bladder is just too large for the space.
