Vang bracket

I just noticed the technical posting from J/Boats on the vang bracket. In one season, we have not had a problem with the bracket. At the same time, I don't want to tempt fate. Has anyone had experience with the bracket failing?

Ed - I am with you on this. Haven't had a problem, but don't want to tempt fate, so I ordered the part. As of last Friday there were 30 brackets in stock..

I received the the bracket. The interesting thing is I was told by Charleston Spar that this thing could be installed by the boatowner. Well, one look at this thing and I immediately thought: NO WAY. You need a rivot gun to install it and a special tool to remove the existing rivots. Rosey the Rivoter I am not, so I am having the yard install the new bracket. If you have any questions give a call to David Lively( Listed on the techincal bulletin) down at Charleston Spar. They are certainly a bit laid back down there, but will get you taken care of.
