In reading the questions and problems posed here, the j 109 seems to have "issues". Is the 109 a boat that I should expect to make repairs? What should I be looking for in inspecting boats that are for sale? Are certain years better than others?

J 109's have some issues but all boats over time develop issues. I've owned six boats over 30 years and the 109 is hands down the best one of the bunch. It's a very strong, very fast boat with finger tip steering and a just great amount of detail put into the design. I'd say for the money a used 109 in the 2003 to 2005 range is going to be a lot of boat for the dollars. I've yet to meet someone who dosen't say how pretty the boat is.
